Assembling for inspection parade

Many years ago when I was in the army, the instructions were relayed in a top-down approach, layer by layer, and in the process the instructions underwent changes. The below is a typical scenario.

MAJ A (coy commander) to his platoon commanders, “Gather the men tomorrow at 0800h for an inspection parade.”

LTA B (one of the platoon commanders under MAJ A) to his platoon sergeant, “Gather the men tomorrow at 0730h for an inspection parade.”

SGT C (the platoon sergeant under LTA B) to the section commanders, “Gather the men tomorrow at 0700h for an inspection parade.”

CPL D (one of the section commanders under SGT C) to the soldiers, “Fall in at 0630h for inspection parade tomorrow.”

In the end, the soldiers assembled at 0630h waiting 1.5 hours for the coy commander to arrive at 0800h.

I hope that things have improved over the years.
