Book review: Thunder of heaven

Title: Thunder of heaven

Authors: Tim LaHaye and Craig Parshall

Publisher: Zondervan

This novel is sequel to “Edge of apocalypse”. It is the 2nd of 4 books in this series about end times. The story starts with a missile attack on a plane taking off from Chicago airport. While the authorities were still investigating, a bomb exploded in a shopping mall. The authorities seemed to be helpless in protecting the people. Meanwhile an underground organization received news of 2 nuclear bombs smuggled into USA. When it passed the information to the authorities, the authorities chose not to believe it. It was left to the underground organization to stop the nuclear bombs. On the other side of the planet, Israel, fearing an Iranian nuclear attack, launched an airstrike on an Iranian nuclear facility. In retaliation a Russia-led coalition army attacked Israel, and Israel was fighting a losing battle. I will leave it to the reader to find out what happened to the 2 nuclear bombs and Israel.

Through the pages, the reader sees the bad guys’ plot against USA slowly taking shape and materializing, yet the authorities were not doing anything due to various reasons such as politics play. Then there was a graphical description of the coalition troops having the upper hand and Israel struggling to defend itself. The reader is kept in suspense what would happen next until the page is turned.

PS: I borrowed this book from the library. I have not received any form of compensation for writing this post. I have no material connection to the publisher or author mentioned in the post.
