When I was young, I liked to buy ice pop from the neighbourhood grocery store because it was among those things my pocket money could afford. In those days, ice pop was wrapped by paper. The stick was not wrapped. Then we would give it a hard blow to inflate the paper wrapper so that it could be removed easily. These days, ice pop is wrapped with plastic wrappers, even the stick is inside the wrapping.
Of course on a hot day, ice pop still serve well as a relief to cool the throat, be it wrapped by paper or plastic.
