Wish you were here

Ben is a disobedient teenager, and his mum has a hard time disciplining him. As a punishment for his recent offence, this year he is grounded and did not join the family in the annual outing. A few days after the family set off, he received a postcard. It was a “wish you were here” postcard from his mum, sent from one of the souvenir shops. For a moment Ben thought his mum had missed him and regretted grounding him.

In the postcard, his mum wrote that they arrived at the volcano site, a major attraction site in the state, after a few hours of bumpy bus ride. Then she wrote the tour guide had told them that in ancient times, the natives would offer their disobedient children to the volcano as a form of offering.
