It was a hot day. Some soldiers were having training in the forested area. LCP Ben swore as he ate the biscuits from the combat rations. It was hard and tasteless.
“What do you expect from the army food?” asked a fellow soldier.
“Why do you think it is called dog biscuit?” said another.
As they continued their trek in the forested area, they saw a dog. A fellow soldier taunted LCP Ben. “Maybe you can feed the dog, it might like the biscuit” he said.
LCP Ben walked slowly to the dog with the biscuit in one hand, and his rifle in the other. He was not taking chances with the dog. The dog was attracted and walked towards him. It came near to LCP Ben. Then it took a sniff at the biscuit, and walked away with nothing in its mouth. That was the last time LCP Ben and his fellow soldiers ate the biscuits from the combat rations.
